The New QuickBooks Online Accountant: An Essential Tool for Accountants
American software company Intuit has launched a new tool that will improve accountant’s efficiency. QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) was introduced in Australia with improved features to manage clients on all accounting software. It is specially designed to put the essential accounting tools in the most accessible, consistent place.
QBOA is comparable to Xero’s Practice Manager and CCH iFirm which promotes seamless data sharing between Practice Manager and your client’s accounting system and streamlined workflow aspects. Intuit QuickBooks envisions itself to become “the operating system behind small business success, while also helping accounting professionals save time and grow their practice.”
The new and improved features of QBOA core focus on three areas: seamlessly expose tools and insights to accountants, seamlessly work with all their employees and clients, and transform how accountants grow their practice. It can be broken down into five sections:
This is where you can find useful tools like reclassifying transactions, closing books, and writing-off invoices. You can also switch to one set of books to another when you want to move on to your next clients.
This is where you can access client data. It shows the status of your bookkeeping and payroll clients regardless of whether they use QuickBooks or not.
This is where you manage the different users in your firm. You can give or restrict access to other employees to QBOA to make it easier to collaborate and share the workload. For example, a managing partner can give a junior accountant limited access to firm information or employee details.
This lets you check your status in your ProAdvisor account and access your ProAdvisor resources.
This gives you free use of QuickBooks Plus with Payroll to manage your own books. You can use it for a demo account or to manage your own company.
“It’s their time to move to the cloud and their time to be recognised as the trusted adviser and experts to their small business clients. We’re delighted to provide a solution that gives accountants their valuable time back and bolsters their pride in confidently helping their clients succeed,” Intuit Australia’s managing director, Nicolette Maury said.
